When you’re the most powerful actress of your generation, sometimes you get a drink named after you. Legend has it, when Mary Pickford, Eddie Woelke, Fred Kaufmann, were traveling in Havana the trip resulted in the creation of a new cocktail. Aptly named, the Mary Pickford is “a night on the Islands, with a splash of Hollywood glamour.” Coincidentally, that’s just how Rough Cut Soap Co. describes their new Mary Pickford handcrafted artisan soap. This is a part of their 2022 Limited Edition "The Cocktail Collection”, which makes its official debut today. Get your hands on this soap and sip the cocktail tonight at Carlton Business Association’s Carlton Ladies Night. While no alcohol was harmed (or used) in the creation of their soaps, our lively libation features our Pacific Rum. See you tonight. Cheers!
Mary Pickford
Ingredients - 2 oz Bull Run Pacific Rum - 1.5 oz pineapple juice - 1 teaspoon Maraschino or Luxardo(cherry) Liqueur - 2 teaspoon Grenadine* - Garnish: Luxardo Cherry
Directions Place Pacific Rum, pineapple juice, Maraschino liqueur, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker. Add lots of ice and shake until cold.
Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
**Homemade Grenadine (no fake dyes!): Combine 2 cups real pomegranate juice (the good stuff), and 2 cups sugar into a saucepan. Bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow mixture to cool then pour into a small decanter or bottle with a tight sealing lid. Add a dash or two of Orange Blossom Water, not too much! Seal and give the bottle a good shake. Date the bottle and keep it in the fridge.
